Hello everyone, I’ve been busy lately just now getting back from vacation at Amelia Island and it was fun, but I got bored right after the E3 broadcast. All I wanted to do was just play games afterwords.

Comics should start updating this week along with an update on my portofolio page too. Also, I’m going to be posting up stuff with a recent orinigal character tournment, everything from the reference sheets to the actually comics with the other artists’ stuff.

I also started a Skype account, the username is jab0527 if there’s anyone who wants to chat join up and we can chat.

Anyway YES!! coming soon is the premire of Burnt Path. I want the net to get a look ( about 5 pages) at the upcoming comic I got going on. Soon I’ll be going to Editor’s Day at SCAD where Editors and companies from around the USA come to look at our stuff. I’m going to try and pitch this idea to someone ideal would be like Oni Press or someone who’ll let me do what I want. But yes. this is the event I’ve been wanting to host and get some main stream to my website. thanks!

After finishing Spring break back home in North Georgia, Jacob heads back to Savannah to finish his studies of Sequential Art at the Savannah College of Art and Design.

Yeah so now it’s week 2 at SCAD and I hate the people at the bursars office. Apparently policy has changed since the last time I’ve had to go down there, because I’m late paying for my tuition this quarter because of a CD. I go down there to sign a promissory note so that I can pay it when I can use my CD. They want me to pay at least half before I can sign it, or pay it in full. F***. If I don’t have all the dough to pay all of it off, what makes you think I would have half? Anyway, after talking to my folks and looking at my bank account this morning, I see that I can pay the half and sign the form. I’ll be posting up some artwork this week, I just finished my second project with Ray Goto, my Character Design and storyboarding for animation class. I also have Drawing for Storyboarding and Ancient Art and Architecture. It’s going to be an okay quarter but I have a lot of work to do, I know that much.

Today I feel like talking about Osamu Tezuka, the father of Manga. he’s created a number of manga from Astro Boy to Princess Knight. Truely nowadays he’s style has been looked down upon because it’s not accurate. Fuck that! It’s a way to show emontion for the characters and he even got the idea from DISNEY!!! FUCKING DISNEY!!! This is also bullshit because Tezuka created a series called Kimba which Disney turned around and made The Lion King and gave no credit to Kimba and said, “I didn’t know that was around.”

Anyway, I think that Tezuka had something going on, I loved Astro Boy not the 63′ anime but the story behind it and simple style to point out the story. Oddly enough I defend the style that Tezuka does, the whole manga style, the page design, big eyes, no background sometimes. One of my professors was wanting me to place backgrounds on a page of my project. I was wanting the reader to see the character and not the background and distract from the message I was trying to put. My professor backed off and understood what I was trying to get across.

No matter what I learn from anyone I’m going to fall into that manga style that Tezuka made that is great for me. I like this style and the artist that created it, it’s a growing way but it’s mixed with other styles now which makes that genre very broad now.

Just now finishing up some of my finals. YEAH RIGHT!!! No, I got three out of five pages done for my Materials and tech final. Just now placing my black placement in my final for Drawing. So yeah I still gotta work on my survey class.

Just saw the cover art for Infamous. Looks pretty sweet. The source of this is on that link. It loks awesome and a demo is coming up so I can’t wait to play the demo on the PS3, but the game has been pushed back from May to June, so I would have to wait a little longer for the full game.
